Fiona is Ann & Arvin's senior purebred Main Coon. We also call her "Queen of the Universe." Fiona turned 13 in November 2006. Though she is somewhere near 65 in equivalent human age, she acts like a kitten. She loves to play and chase toys around the house batting them with her paws. Until her companion Pogo passed away, Fio was a standoffish cat who tolerated the humans in her domain but did not seem to want very much to do with them. All of that changed when Pogo died. Fiona became affectionate and talkative. Now she loves to be near us and sits on Ann's lap whenever Ann alights long enough for her to do so.
We have had some marvelous cats in our lives. Here are the most recent of our feline companions.

Pogo was almost 16 years old when she passed away. She was an alley cat who was wise and sweet. She had a wonderful warm soul and loved people. She was very intellegent and learned the American Sign Language phrase "do you want dinner now?" She loved affection and often lay on her back and waited for a scritch from her favorite human, Arvin. |

Rosie was the half-sister of Pogo. She lived with us until she was around 10 years old. The reason we found a new home for her was that she and Fiona did not get along. This picture tells it all. She lived for two years in her new home until her death at age 12. She was a sweet cat. |

Archie was Ann's favorite cat of all time. He was a tiny "alley angora" kitten when Ann's neighbor gave him to her in 1966. He lived to be sixteen years old and was the closest feline friend she has ever had. He was beautiful and affectionate and he and Ann had a special bond. |

When Archie was 11 we got one year old Traveler. It was love at first sight. She would snuggle into his fur and he would groom her even though he rarely groomed himself. Arvin was Trav's favorite human. When Archie died and Traveler became an only cat, she would sit on Arvin's lap and reach out a paw to touch Ann as if to say, "these are MY humans." |
